VOICE OF ROCK RETURNS HOME
To coincide with the release of his new album Music for the Divine,
Glenn Hughes the golden-voiced former vocalist and bass player for
rock legends Deep Purple, will be undertaking European tour, beginning
with two shows in the U.K. and more dates scheduled for spring 2007..
Close friend Chad Smith of the Red Hot Chili Peppers plays drums
throughout and was actively involved in all aspects of the recording
and production of Music for the Divine, as he was with the previous
commercially successful album Soul Mover. Chad's enthusiasm and
contribution have been pivotal in making this Glenn's most
commercially successful period of his career since his days in Deep
Purple.
Rather than simply trading on past glories, Glenn Hughes is currently
one of the most prolific artists of his generation who is still able
to attract the musical involvement of the calibre of the Smith and
John Frusciante from the Chili Peppers, Dave Navarro and Jerry
Cantrell.
"I am so much looking forward to returning to the UK. I still have
lots of friends and fans here so it's all about presenting some new
stuff and maybe turning the clock back to some old numbers too," said

DEACON BLUE CELEBRATE 21ST ANNIVERSARY WITH TOP 20 ALBUM, SOLD OUT DATES AND PRISON CONCERT
Having returned to the Top 20 of the British album charts for the first time in 12 years and with sold out dates ahead of them, Deacon Blue launched their UK tour with a show in Kilmarnock Prison.
The last time that Deacon Blue were in the top 20 of the album chart was in 1994 with 'Our Town - Greatest Hits'. 12 years later they return with the album 'Singles' - a collection of 16 of their hit singles and 3 new compositions.
The band started their UK tour with a show on November 3rd in Kilmarnock Prison - the concert had been arranged as a sequel to a previous visit to the prison by front man Ricky Ross and vocalist Lorraine McIntosh. Ricky and Lorraine were be joined by fellow band members Dougie Vipond and Jim Prime for this special concert which will act as a reward for high-performing prison inmates.
The Scottish band can then look forward to sold out shows on their 16 date tour which will include two special concerts at Leicester's De Montfort Hall on 12 November and Brighton's Centre on 15th November during which Deacon Blue will perform their debut album Raintown in its entirety followed by a selection of Greatest Hits. 'Raintown' spent an astonishing 77 weeks in the British album chart.
Deacon Blue are one of the UK's most commercially successful bands with a reputation for writing and performing classic and timeless pop songs. With five top 5 UK albums (of which 2 were number 1) under the belts they have chalked up an impressive 4 years in the British album charts. Their seventeen top 40 singles resided in the chart for more than 2 years 'Singles' is a CD for all lovers of great pop music - a 19 track digitally re-mastered collection that includes 16 of their hit singles - including their first hit single 'Dignity', the 'Real Gone Kid', 'Chocolate Girl', and 'Twist and Shout' - and 3 brand new songs which continue their extraordinary legacy - 'The One About Loneliness', 'Haunted' and the single 'Bigger Than Dynamite'.

BLUE NILE'S BUCHANAN ANNOUNCES TOUR
Paul Buchanan, vocalist and songwriter from Glasgow's trio, The Blue Nile, has announced a November UK/Irish tour with his brand new band featuring Robert Bell of The Blue Nile.
The concert showcases the ambient folk and electronic pop from Blue Nile's back catalogue, along with some classic cover songs and exciting new solo material.

U2 Zoo TV Live from Sydney will be released on DVD for the very first time by Island Records on September 18th.
As well as the legendary live show, the new release comes with a bonus DVD, featuring live tracks, mini-documentaries and the famous Zoo TV "Interference". Directed by David Mallet and filmed at the Sydney Football Stadium, Australia in November 1993, Zoo TV Live From Sydney has previously only been available on VHS.

EMI Catalogue Marketing release remastered versions of Monty Python's eight albums originally recorded for the Charisma label on October 2.
All eight albums have been remastered by Andre Jacquemin along with the complete co-operation of all the surviving Pythons, and the entire project has been over two years in the making.
Widely credited as exerting the same level of influence on comedy that The Beatles did on music, Monty Python's legacy to comedy both in the UK and the US is unparalleled. Each of the eight albums include previously unheard and unreleased bonus tracks, along with interviews with Michael Palin, Terry Jones and Graham Chapman.
All artwork has been overseen by Terry Gilliam, who opened his private archive to allow access to previously unseen images - many of which are included here in the CD booklets. The covers themselves are faithful to the originals, with sleevenotes provided by comedy historian Robert Ross.
Remastered at Abbey Road and Redwood Studios, the albums will coincide with the UK theatre debut of Eric Idle's Spamalot at the Palace Theatre, London, on the 2nd October 2006. A major hit on Broadway (it was the only musical to open there and be immediately sold out for eighteen months), Spamalot is going to Las Vegas shortly and is currently on a US tour.
All albums will be released across digital formats.

DELUXE EDITION FOR 'HYSTERIA'
Mercury Records releases the 'Hysteria Deluxe Edition' on 16 October 2006. The double album will feature the full album remastered and a host of extras including all the 'Hysteria' single b-sides, live b-sides and remixes together for the first time. The deluxe edition will also feature exclusive expanded booklet and artwork (including a forward by Rolling Stone senior editor David Fricke).
The statistics for 'Hysteria' are astounding. The album has sold in excess of 17 million copies and counting.
Due to the incredible success of previous album 'Pyromania' (released in 1983) and 'Hysteria' Def Leppard are one of only five rock groups who can claim two separate original 10 million plus selling albums in the US. The others are The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd and Van Halen. The 'Hysteria' album also spawned 7 hit singles! STEVE HILLAGE REISSUES IN OCTOBER
One time member of Gong, Steve Hillage released 7 studio albums and one live album in his time with Virgin between 1975 and 1982.
A string of top 40 albums including the top 10 album 'L' cemented Hillage's place at the heart of the acid generation and to this day he is still making music, be it as producer, re-mixer or artist.
The re-issues, 'Fish Rising','L','Motivation Radio' and 'Radio Dome Musick', are released on 30th October, with a second set of 4 being released on 15 January 2007: 'Green', 'Live Herald', 'Open', 'For To Next - And Not Or'. All re-issues feature re-mastered music and include a number of bonus tracks from the Hillage tape archives. They are put together with Steve's co-operation, come packaged in jewel case with liner notes written by prog expert Mark Powell and include photos and memorabilia from the Hillage archives. The albums and bonus tracks will be available for download.
This first batch of re-issues include his most commercially successful work and will be available just in time for the hugely popular Gong Family unconvention - a weekend festival celebrating all things Gong which takes place in Amsterdam where Steve is playing with a number of bands.
