~BLOOD RED THRONE - Lineup shift before European tour~

Norway's Death Metal demons Blood Red Throne have had some changes within their ranks recently. New members Vald (vocals) and Anders (drums) will be joining current members Død, Tchort and Erlend for their upcoming European tour with Mortician and Akercocke this coming November.

According to guitarist and founding member Død, former vocalist Mr. Hustler could no longer continue with Blood Red Throne due his occupational commitments.

Meanwhile, former drummer Espen "Beist" Antonsen was not available to perform and rehease with the band as often as other members would've liked so the band opted for someone within a closer vicinity to the rest of the members. Død also said that he was excited about taking the new line-up out on the road, stating, "we're ready to kick ass live!"

IN FLAMES - Drummer to sit out UK tour~

IN FLAMES drummer Daniel Svensson will sit out the band's upcoming U.K. tour with MOTÖRHEAD while awaiting the birth of his second child. "We asked an old friend of ours, Tobbe Kellgren, to handle the drums for the tour and he gladly accepted," the band write on their web site.

Since the tour is already underway, www.inflames.com has been updated with photos from the band’s October 30th date with MOTORHEAD at Colston Hall in Bristol, England. Check them out at this location.

In other news, IN FLAMES held "a listening party" for their new album, "Come Clarity", with media people and guests at the Storan Theater in Gothenburg. "For this special occasion, we made a 'rehearsal video' for the whole album that we showed to our guests," the band write on their web site. "Directing it was once again Patric Ullaeus [DIMMU BORGIR, LACUNA COIL]! Patric and Anders [Fridén, vocals] worked really hard to get it done in time for the viewing and when the rest of us saw it it blew us away! Hopefully this is something that also YOU will be able to enjoy in the future — we'll see."

On the touring front, IN FLAMES will kick off a U.S. headliningtrek at "the end of January that will be running until the end of February," according to a posting on the gorup's web site. "After that we are touring Europe from early March until April sometime. We will let you know as soon as we have some details (dates, support, etc.). On this Eurotrip we will try to do at least 5-7 shows in the U.K. — hopefully even getting to Ireland for the first time!"

As previously reported, IN FLAMES's new album, "Come Clarity", is scheduled for a February 7, 2006 North American release through Ferret Records. The CD will be issued in Europe on February 6, 2006 via Nuclear Blast Records.

The follow-up to 2004's "Soundtrack to Your Escape", "Come Clarity" was mixed at Tonteknik studio in Umeå, Sweden and is "the best one we've ever done," according to IN FLAMES guitarist Jesper Strömblad. "It's kind of a mixture between the new stuff and the old stuff," Strömblad told Greece's Metal Temple webzine in a recent interview.

"Like the previous two albums were a little bit experimental for us, we changed producers and we changed studios. So we took all the good stuff from the old stuff and the new and we did this album and it's brilliant. It's awesome. . . Musically it's more up tempo, more melodic to show that we have so much more to give and we're really hungry. The best album is yet to come."

IN FLAMES recently completed a U.S. tour as one of the main-stage acts at this year's Ozzfest. The band will tour the U.S. for over half of 2006, starting with the headlining tour in January. A video for the new album's opening track, "Take This Life", is being shot this week with director Ullaeus.

~ANTHRAX - Scott about the future~

The good people at BW&BK caught up with ANTHRAX guitarist Scott Ian minutes before the metal thrashing axeman hit the stage at the Bell Center in Montreal, Quebec, as part of the band's current reunion tour opening for JUDAS PRIEST.

The bottom line of the interview is: ANTHRAX do not know yet who will sing on their next studio album – Joey Belladonna, who returned to the fold for a reunion of the Eighties line-up, or John Bush, who has been with the band since 1993 and sang on the latest batch of new material, the wonderful "We've Come For You All" (2003).

So we all have to wait and see, basically.

Nuclear Blast Records has pushed back the European release date (except Germany and Scandinavia) of the the updated, re-recorded version of DIMMU BORGIR's 1996 album, "Stormblåst", to November 14 from the previously announced November 7. The CD will be released in Germany on November 11 and in Scandinavia on November 9. The delay is being attributed to "pressing plant problems."

The album will be released in North America on February 7, 2006 with a limited collectors item. This edition will only be available in the North American pressing.

"Stormblåst" was completely re-recorded with producer Peter Tägtgren (HYPOCRISY, PAIN) and MAYHEM's Hellhammer on drums. Check out the album's new artwork at Rockdetector.com.

~DARKANE - Road report from the US~

DARKANE guitarist Christofer Malmström posted the following update from the band's North American tour with FEAR FACTORY, STRAPPING YOUNG LAD and SOILWORK at the band's official website on November 1st:

"Today we´re in Milwaukee, WI. Been doing four shows so far, so only 29 to go! The audience has been really great so far! I´m surprised that so many people have shown up for the opening act... something that is not taken for granted when you open up in Europe.

Two days ago we were in Chicago. The first thing we did was to take a walk in that beautiful city to the Sears Tower, the tallest building in the US. The view was fantastic! We also took a group photo with this green screen where they put the tower in the background if you buy the pic. We´ll see if we can scan it and put it up here. When returning to the House of Blues we suddenly found ourself in one of the VIP opera boxes in the balcony at a gospel concert! For five Swedes that was a really cool experience!

After the show we took off for a night club together with Gene and Devin from SYL. Poor thing was that it was an 21 and over club and Gene didn´t bring his ID, so he didn´t get in. What is that!!?? Same thing happened to Klas but for some reason he got in anyway. I guess it´s the angel like blond hair, or the help of the merch girl Robin.

Yesterday we played Minneapolis, MN. Cool thing is my father lived and worked in this city 46 years ago. I guess he didn´t guess his son was gonna come back as a touring musician many years later. The show was cool as well. Peter finally got his own drums so he doesn´t have to play Gene's monster truck anymore.

Burton from Fear Factory had some Halloween make up on and the scissor sisters on stage for a song.

Today we´ve got hold of some electrical devices that we need for our backing track machine and if everything goes smooth we´ll finally have everything up and running for tonight's show! I´m happy Jörgen and Andreas are good technicians."

See you out there!!!

Christofer

~HAMMERFALL - Bassist to collaborate with orchestra~

HAMMERFALL bassist Magnus Rosén will collaborate with the Gothenburg Symphonic Orchestra (the national orchestra of Sweden) under the "Respekt" banner (Swedish for "Respect"). In September 2006, about 15 concerts will be performed at the Concert Hall in Gothenburg, Sweden. The occasion will mark the first time a rock bassist has performed with the 108 men and women of the symphonic orchestra.

Magnus is relay looking forward to this: “We have not yet decided what we are going to play. There will be songs of my solo albums, of course, but may be also some Bach?”

What is more Magnus is planning more charity concerts in Peru, Chile, Costa Rica and Canada after the great success of his work for the poor last year.

In addition to recording and touring with HAMMERFALL, Magnus Rosén has made a name for himself though his strong commitment to social causes, including charity tours in South America and performances in various churches.

Commented Magnus: "Considering that our society is made up of people with a wide range of physical characteristics, opinions and ethnic backgrounds, we must see the advantages of our differences. With this collaboration we wish to show our youth the importance of respect, ethics and morality."

More information regarding this unique project will be revelaed during 2006.

Magnus Rosén will join his HAMMERFALL bandmates on a European tour beginning on October 25. Click here for the dates.

~SUCH A SURGE - Farewell tour!~

After 14 years, 6 albums and approx. 600 gig, German crossover veterans habe decided to play their last tour next year, before the band will be put on hold indefinitely.

As the band write in an official statement:

"SUCH A SURGE gave us the opportunity to always follow our own path and create something that we always will be proud of.

Maybe the day will come, when we want to say something together again as SUCH A SURGE. But now we feel the need to start a new chapter. It's time to face the challenges of life separately.

Through many unforgettable moments, SUCH A SURGE did shape us as human beings. So we didn't take this step lightly. But for the same reason we are looking forward very much to the farewell tour from Jan 26 to Feb 23, where want to rock out with all the fantastic SURGE fans and friends – because this always was and still is the greatest part!

So whoever wants to go through those 14 years with us, from »Gegen den Strom«, »Silver Surger« to »Jetzt ist gut« and »Mission erfüllt«, should definitely come to a show!

We want to thank all those, who were with us all this time, who supported and believed in us! This we will never forget!

Canuck extremists KATAKLYSM will be premiering, on January 1st, a new song called 'Like Angels Weeping (The Dark)' ,from the bands highly anticipated new album »In The Arms Of Devastation«.

KATAKLYSM guitarist J-F Dagenais comments: "The new album is at the record label, gearing up for production as we speak. Tue Madsen (THE HAUNTED, MNEMIC) did a phenomenal job on the mix, the album sounds very powerful and very well balanced. Everyone at NUCLEAR BLAST in Europe and the States seem to think this is our strongest album to date (that makes you feel very confident I must say!) They are very excited and so are we. For me this album is just another piece to the KATAKLYSM puzzle but a very important one indeed. We really found our niche and the the determination of the band is felt all over this record. I think our fans will dig this one alot!! Play it loud February 20th!!"

~DISILLUSION news update~

It is about time. Since February, DISILLUSION are working on their second full length record at their Salvation Recording studio in Leipzig and are now very close to finish the song-writing process. As already presumed months ago: the new record will not be a follow-up to BACK TO TIMES OF SPLENDOR - that is for sure. No fields but motorways, where once were woods now concrete reigns. What then was orange is set ablaze. For all that, the new songs are much more DISILLUSION than ever before. The band is also looking forward to soon leaving BTTOS behind them, most of all live. Despite the constant attempts to shrink the monolithic material to a live-3-piece, it simply will not get any better.
Still, some concerts are set, most probably the very last ones for BTTOS:
Nov 19 - [Ger] Oschatz / E-Werk
Dec 03 - [Ger] Aue / Winter's Dawn Festival
Dez 10 - [Ger] Höchen / Glanhalle - Killing Santa Claus Party
Dez 16 - [Ger] Hamburg / Fundbureau
Dez 17 - [Ger] Hannover / Underworld
Dez 26 - [Ger] Bautzen / Power Of Expression Festival
Jan 21 - [Ger] Bayreuth / KOMM.
Recordings of the new record will probably begin in February - where and how they will be done, will be decided soon. A first, very careful and temporary plan predicts May / June 2006 for release date of the record.
Also, in about 3 weeks there will be a reissue and a special edition of the BTTOS shirts.

Talk to you very soon,
Disillusion.

~THREAT SIGNAL - Sign with Nuclear Blast!~

Canadian metallers THREAT SIGNAL have signed to NUCLEAR BLAST!

THREAT SIGNAL's music can be described as low-end, syncopated thrash, with melody intertwined. The band was fed up with groups playing whiny emotional songs about girls, and also with the simplicity of nu-metal. Threat Signal combines the complexity of old school and European thrash music with de-tuned, technical syncopation, as well as melodic singing and musical passages. The bands influences include SOILWORK, FEAR FACTORY, PANTERA, MESHUGGAH, and MUDVAYNE.

You can hear a couple of THREAT SIGNAL songs at this location.

~COLDSEED - Speed's and Thomen's band signed~

SOILWORK singer Björn "Speed" Strid and former BLIND GUARDIAN/current SAVAGE CIRCUS skinsman Thomen Stauch are collaborating on a project called COLDSEED – and signed a deal with NUCLEAR BLAST!

Expect their debut album in the spring!

COLDSEED have uploaded rough-mix audio samples of two tracks from their upcoming debut album. Check out the songs "Democracy Lesson" (mp3) and "On My Way" (mp3).

Commented Stauch, "Keep in mind that the songs are still not the final mix, but they sound already pretty nice and still good in 96 kbps! In the next weeks, we will work still on the design for the [band's official web] page, like COLDSEED logo etc...and there will be 1-2 more songs uploaded for your headbanger ears! "

Strid had previously described COLDSEED's music as "a mixture between RAMMSTEIN and ALICE IN CHAINS."
