WHITECHAPEL sign with Metal Blade Records
Metal Blade Records has announced the signing of Knoxville, TN death/grind metal
band WHITECHAPEL. Started in February of 2006, the band quickly gained the
attention of the underground scene in the US and Europe with relentless touring
and face-melting, neck-snapping tunes. Ever since their inception WHITECHAPEL
have been turning heads, whether it be by word of mouth, online, or through
their devastating live show.
With the line-up of the band at its strongest and best it has
ever been, the release of their highly anticipated full-length album, entitled
"The Somatic Defilement" (Candlelight USA), and their freshly inked deal with
Metal Blade Records, there is nothing that can stop them now. Look for

In Flames To Play Russia

In other news, In Flames are currently in the middle of the recording of the new
album. It is being recorded in the bands own studio, IF STUDIOS www.ifstudios.se
All drums have been recorded and most of the bass is done. Rhythm guitars are
near completed and the solo's are about to be started on. This week the vocal
recording will begin and In Flames are getting the help and expertise from
Daniel Bergstrand, who has previously produced the vocals on "Reroute To
Remain", "Soundtrack To Your Escape" and "Come Clarity".

DYNAMIC ARTS RECORDS SIGNS URN
Pioneers of Finnish black thrashing metal mayhem URN have been signed to Dynamic
Arts Records. Band will enter Fantom Studio in November to record their third
full-length opus. Expect only hellbanging metal madness. Upcoming album will be
released in February 2008.
URN was formed in 1994, since then band has devastated metal underground world
wide. Band's first full-length "666 Megatons" was released 2001, which was
followed by their second album "Dawn Of The Devastation" in 2006. Unholy trinity
has been touring widely in Europe with names like Carpathian Forrest, Sabbat,
Nifelheim and Deströyer 666. Next show will happen 20th of October in Bladel,
The Netherlands. In November band will be touring in Finland supporting Adorior
from UK.

Swedish metallers IN FLAMES have issued the following update: "As you probably
know by now, we are currently holed up in IF Studios recording our new album.
Things are going VERY well and we are making steady progress and are on
schedule. So far eleven drum tracks has been laid down, six bass tracks with
four more to be done over the next days, and we are also working hard with the
guitar foundations. So far seven rhythm guitar tracks are finished and we are
about to start with the solos this week. Thanks for all your support and we are
looking forward to seeing you on the road next year with a brand new album to
play you songs from!"

TESTAMENT - Working with Paul Bostaph
Legendary drummer Paul Bostaph (ex-EXODUS, ex-SLAYER) will join the ranks
alongside originating classic thrash legends TESTAMENT - Chuck Billy on vocals,
Alex Skolnick on lead guitar, Eric Peterson on rhythm guitar and Greg Christian
on bass. Unfortunately Nick Barker will not be recording with TESTAMENT on this
new album, due to Homeland Security and International Work Visa issues. Rather
than delaying this long awaited return of TESTAMENT, the band has chosen to
recruit Paul Bostaph, long time friend and member, to record on the much
anticipated album, which is tentatively scheduled for a spring 2008 release via
Nuclear Blast.
Here´s a (shortened) statement from Nick Barker:
"I am with great disappointment and deep-filled sadness no longer involved in
the making of the much-anticipated, eagerly awaited new TESTAMENT album, to be
released on Nuclear Blast Records in the spring of 2008.
In July of this year, after returning back to the U.S. from a
very enjoyable and successful appearance at Waldrock open-air [festival] (Burgum,
Holland) I was refused entry into the United States (in Minneapolis en route to
San Francisco) due to not having the appropriate visa required by an
international artist/entertainer like myself which enables me to enter the
country and do my thing, which, of course, in this case was to make music and
perform on American soil. So that was pretty much why I was unfortunately not on
the East Coast shows (Sounds Of The Underground, etc.) in late July and Paul
Bostaphstepped in. Due to the expense and processing/turn-around time required
for such a visa under these circumstances, it is with regret simply impossible
for me to be where I need to be right now (in California) with the TESTAMENT
guys putting the finishing touches to the album/songs/drums and preparing to
record.
So it makes perfect sense all round to utilize the incredible
services of drumming powerhouse Paul Bostaph who is already in the Bay Area,
done time with TESTAMENT and is a longtime friend of the band. Paul is a
phenomenal drummer and will absolutely deliver the goods ten-fold when it comes
to the new record. He's also a good friend too and I wish him nothing but the
best."

on Saturday, October 20th: At Stefan Raab`s "Stock Car Crash Challenge 2007" at
20.15 on PRO 7 RAGE will perform as a backing band for the "Dicks On Fire". By

BENEDICTION - Entering studio soon
Long-running British Death Metal legends BENEDICTION have posted the following
statement on their MySpace-page: "OK, they've talked and talked about it for
long enough. The boys will be going into the studio on November 21 (booked and
confirmed!) to actually record the fu*king album ("Killing Music") at long last.
It will be released at the end of March 2008 and a full tour will commence in
April 2008 for God knows how long followed by as many festivals that will allow
them to play!!!
There will be at least 12 tracks on the final mix, maybe
more, if the studio can keep them out of the bar for long enough. Let's hope
they manage to stay alive long enough to get in the studio considering the
mayhem they cause by just popping out for a few drinks together!!! Get the
ambulances ready, it's gonna get messy." The line up of BENEDICTION in 2007

Liquido posted the following statement:
"Finally, we made it! The new Liquido long player is finished and will be out in
February/March 2008. It contains 14 tracks, among them 13 newly written songs
plus one re-recording of Agree To Stay, a song which was released as a piano &
vocal version on our debut single in 1998.
Zoomcraft is a concept album and is subdivided into three sections. We focussed
musically more than ever on electronic components and influences, but never lost
track of our roots, strengths and Liquido typical trademarks. The first single
will be lifted approximately 4 weeks in advance of the release date of the

ARSIS guitarist & vocalist Jim Malone reports the successful completion of the
recording process for the band's upcoming album, "We Are The Nightmare".
Produced by Zeuss (AGNOSTIC FRONT, HATEBREED, MUNICIPAL WASTE) at Planet Z
Studios in Massachussetts and mastered by Alan Douches (KATAKLYSM, etc.), the

EXCITER: New album for Massacre Records delayed to February 22nd, 2008
Ultimate Canadian Speed / Thrash metal heroes EXCITER, whose classic "Heavy
Metal Maniac" album was defining speed metal even before Metallica's "Kill 'em
All", have signed with Massacre Records!
The line-up is John Ricci (guitars), Rik Charron (drums), Clammy (bass) with new
singer Kenny Winter.
The band will finish recording their new album "Thrash, Speed, Burn" real soon.

Paul Raven: Bass player with Killing Joke, Ministry, Prong Dies in Geneva Aged
46 (Jan 16th 1961)
Paul Raven Bass player with Killing Joke has died unexpectedly in Geneva in the
early hours of Saturday October 20th 2007.
Paul had been recording with Ted Parsons and Marco Neves in Geneva for the band
Treponem pal. After a days recording Paul retired to bed and did not wake up.
Although Killing Joke was his life passion playing on hits such as Love Like
Blood and Kings and Queens, Paul was also a prolific musician in other areas. At
various times in his life he played and wrote with Ministry, Godflesh, Prong,
Pigface, Murder Inc, Amen and many others. Killing Joke have been covered by
everyone from Metallica, Foo Fighters, Fear factory, Helmet to Nouvelle Vague
and LCD Soundsystem. Paul a native of Wolverhampton started his musical journey
with local punk legends The Neon Hearts and then Kitsch which he formed with
Tyla later of Dogs D'Amour.
Jaz Coleman - Geordie Walker, front man and Guitarist of Killing Joke said
earlier today:

THREE (3) release new video
Woodstock, NY-based band THREE (3) has released its video for the song "All That
Remains", which is the first single off the group's new album, "The End Is
Begun", released on July 24. The clip was directed and shot by acclaimed
director David Brodsky (GWAR, STRAPPING YOUNG LAD, HELMET) and his crew at
MyGoodEye. The performance portion of the video took place at the site of a
crumbling, abandoned castle usually closed off to film/video crews. However,
after hearing THREE's music they had a change of heart, convinced that this band
would be the perfect compliment to their location.

AEON seek new drummer
The whole process of completing the writing of "Rise to Dominate", as long with
the booking of studio, the recording and the production of it was all planned by
AEON and by Metal Blade to work out with their 25th anniversary tour in the US.
"Rise to Dominate" was released in the US on the 4th of October, and the tour
began on the 6th of October. That would have been a killer start!!!
But after Nils joined DARK FUNERAL, and elected to go on their tour, and to
cancel AEONs important spot on the bill of the anniversary tour with CANNIBAL
CORPSE among others, it looked to us and many others that he made a big
statement how he was going to prior AEON further on.
Anyway he did tell us after a few days that he could not live with the idea of
having someone else playing the drums with AEON (which had been the discussion
over these days), and we thought it was true. He had a big idea how he would
plan everything and how history would not repeat itself again with cancelled
tours etc.
During this end of summer/beginning of autumn, we have gotten a lot of requests
from promoters who want to book AEON for gigs. Some of them interfered with DARK
FUNERAL shows which we do not blame anyone for. Those where already booked. For
some other shows that did not interfere with DARK FUNERAL shows, we have tried
to contact Nils with several phonecalls and e-mails over the last weeks without
result. No tries from him to get back or anything.
And so two weeks ago, we sent him an e-mail telling him that this is NOT how
things should be working. AEON is the main priority for the rest of us, and if
he can not even get back and let us know if we can book a show, then it is
useless for us to have him in the band. He makes AEON look unprofessional in
what we are doing. We will not be a side project, only to be picked up whenever
there is nothing else going on at the moment. We told him that we cannot wait
anymore, and that we will start looking for a new drummer. We asked him to
confirm to us when he had red the mail, but after two weeks....still not one
word!

TO HELL AND BACK...
First off, thanks to everybody who came and supported us at Hell On Earth Tour
the last month. It was an amazing run and we were stoked how crazy the shows
were! Thanks a million! Secondly, we would like to thank Scott from TERROR
immensely for helping us out with singing on this last tour before Kevin goes on

NEW ALBUM COMING UP
As you might have seen, we don't have any shows planned at the moment, and that
has a specific reason of course. It's pointless to keep it a secret as everyone
can figure it out. We're preparing for the recordings of our fifth full length
album! We're jamming a lot and working hard on the new songs, Tom is driving us
crazy with 5 minute solo outbursts, Greg insists on songs that only consist of
mosh parts, Fedi wants to sing about flowers and Ricky is officially down to one
fully functional cymbal. But seriously, we're very excited about the new
stuff!!! Once again we will enter the Antfarm studios in Denmark where we will
hammer the crude metal into shape with the help of Tue Madsen! More on that
soon!
BASS PLAYER SITUATION
First off and once again we'd like to thank Ralf from
DISPARAGED and Jay from VALE TUDO for helping us out on those past shows! Of
course we're still missing a steady 5th member and in time we will be looking
for the right guy, but as of now we aren't. Cheers to all the people who have
already contacted us about it and those killing our nerves (you know who you are
haha), but we are not officially auditioning for a bass player. Not yet. As soon
as we will, you will know as we will make it public. You can write us but
seriously we're too busy to sort this out now.
CATARACT ON TV
We went to a casting session this past weekend and it was quite an experience.
Hopefully will be picked to take part in a TV show, and you'll possibly see us
making complete twats out of ourselves. We'll let you know how it goes! If we're
not too ugly it should be allright and it'll be lots of fun! As usual it'll take
between 1 week and 1 year until we finally know.

LIZZY BORDEN finish filming new video
The video for "Tomorrow Never Comes", which was shot on location in downtown Los
Angeles the weekend of October 29th with director Kevin Mcvey, is described as
"a haunted little tale."
This will be the first video from the band's forthcoming album, "Appointment
With Death", due on November 5th (Europe) via Metal Blade Records. Appearing in
the clip are band members Lizzy Borden, Joey Scott, Marten Andersson and Ira
Black.

Sentinel Records sometime between November and December 2007. The double vinyl

THE ARCANE ORDER finish new album
"'In the Wake of Collisions' is done! After having recorded the album at Hansen
Studios with producer Jacob Hansen during October, Jacob Hansen spent a couple
of weeks making fine adjustments and tuning up the album and now the album is
finally done. We are stoked with the result, and hopefully you guys will be so
to! The album came out really well and we are all proud and happy with the
result!
"We should warn you guys though: This album is not the natural follow-up to 'The
Machinery Of Oblivion'. We always said we weren't interest in just making a new
"Machinery..." album, and we think the new album proves just that. We have
evolved as a team, as a band, and you will be able to hear so on the new album.
We think it's fair to say that we have found our own sound with the new album.
You need to listen to the whole album, all the songs in a row, to understand
what the new stuff is all about.
"So what does the new album sound like? Well, it's a bit hard to describe. The
new stuff is less thrashy, but in some parts much more extreme, while some parts
are really melodic and almost epic-sounding. There's tons of shredding, great
drum and vocal work, so everyone should be pleased.
"We are still working on getting the artwork finished, which should be done
soon. The album is set to be released on January 14th (Europe)!"

Precambrian" re-mastering
Unfortunately, we had to remaster the album, since we were not happy with the
original mastering's sound. This has delayed the manufacturing process quite a
bit, but trust us, it was worth it. The release date will not be pushed back,
but the promos won't make it in time for the november issues, so the album will
be in stores before them funky journalists get their hands on it...

DARKANE - New singer revealed
Following the departure of lead singer Andreas Sydow this past August, DARKANE
guitarist & founding member Christopher Malmström took some time to write in
from Helsingborg, Sweden to announce the band's new frontman:
"DARKANE would like to welcome Jens Broman as our new vocalist! He's recently
been seen in the vocal spot in CONSTUCDEAD and THE DEFACED (and will continue to
sing in both bands). Jens grew up in Glumslöv, south of Helsingborg (a good
friend of Björn Strid from Soilwork), but now lives in Stockholm. His live debut
with us will take place in three weeks at the ProgPower Scandinavia festival in
Copenhagen, Denmark on November 10th.
We've been rehearsing hard lately and are very excited to
work together with Jens. He has a huge vocal diversity and we are pretty sure
that DARKANE fans won´t be disappointed. We had our interests set on Jens at a
very early stage and would like to thank all the people who showed their
interest in joining DARKANE as our vocalist. We wish you all the success in the
future, and we'd also like to congratulate Peter [Wildoer, drummer] and [his
longtime girlfriend] Erika for getting engaged a few weeks back."

SONIC SYNDICATE - Finish an amazing European tour
Swedish Stars of SONIC SYNDICATE have almost completed their EASTPAK Antidote
Tour in Europe - they will play their last show on Nov 10th in Bad Oeynhausen
(GER) before heading out on US tour with AMON AMARTH, HIMSA and DECAPITATED!
These young newcomers have done very well every evening - the venues were packed
at 7.30 pm when the band went on stage and there is no doubt who is going to be

Berlin's exceptional postcore collective THE OCEAN has to postpone their
upcoming double album "Precambrian" due to problems within the process of
production.
The monumental work will now not be released on November 5th (Europe) as
previously announced. "Precambrian" will finally see the light of day on
November 12th.

DECAPITATED INJURED IN ROAD CRASH
Two members of Decapitated have been seriously injured in a road accident
involving their tour bus and a truck carrying wood in Gomel, on the
Russia/Belarus border.
Vocalist Covan and drummer Vitek sustained serious head injuries as a result of
the accident, and are to be taken 550km from Gomel to Moscow for emergency
treatment.
All other members of the touring party are not reported to be seriously hurt.

DEICIDE - RALPH SANTOLLA RECORDING GUITARS ON NEW ALBUM, "TILL DEATH DO US PART"
Veteran guitarist, Ralph Santolla has rejoined DEICIDE and is currently hard at
work recording his guitar parts for DEICIDE's 2008 release, TILL DEATH DO US
PART at Morrisound Studios in Florida.
DEICIDE had previously parted ways with Ralph Santolla back in May of this year.
Over the course of the following months, he would spend the summer touring with
OBITUARY and pushing his talent as far as it could go. When he was asked to
rejoin DEICIDE in time for the recording of TILL DEATH DO US PART, Santolla came
back to the fold as a man possessed and he had come back, literally better than
ever before.
While there will inevitably be naysayers who doubt the decision, DEICIDE
drummer, Steve Asheim insists that Ralph Santolla's return will only strengthen
the maniacal musical landscape that DEICIDE is known for. "Ralph is really
reaching towards the very depths of his abilities to come up with something
completely fresh and challenging."
Even those outside of the band have given nothing but positive feedback on Ralph
Santolla's progress during the recording sessions. "Jim Morris came and told me
that Ralph has been coming up with some of the greatest metal riffs and licks
that he's ever heard;" says Asheim. "Ralph's really pushing his abilities to the
limit, coming up with things that he's never been able to do before."
