~GOREFEST - New video posted!~

Reunited Dutch metallers GOREFEST have posted a report from the video shoot for their new track "For the Masses" at their official web site. Also available are several photos taken during the shoot. Check them out at Gorefest.nl .

As previously reported, several audio samples from GOREFEST's upcoming album, "La Muerte", are available for download at this location . The CD is scheduled for release in Europe on October 28.

Nuclear Blast Records reissued the entire GOREFEST back catalog in July, complete with unreleased tracks, demos and other rarities. Everything was remastered, and booklets contain liner notes by renowned Dutch journalist and writer Robert Haagsma, along with many pics from the band's own private stash. In addition, Nuclear Blast has thrown in a cool box in which to store all the CDs from the collection.

~DIMMU BORGIR - New clips in the works~

According to an online posting by DIMMU BORGIR guitarist Silenoz, the group will shortly be filming a video for the track "Sorgens Kammer – Del II" with director Patric Ullaeus of Sweden's Revolver Film Company.

"Sorgens Kammer – Del II" is one of the new tracks included on the updated, re-recorded version of DIMMU BORGIR's 1996 album, "Stormblåst" due on November 7. The album was completely re-recorded with producer Peter Tägtgren ( HYPOCRISY , PAIN) and MAYHEM's Hellhammer on drums. Check out the album's new artwork at Rockdetector.com .

The new version of "Stormblåst" adds two brand-new audio tracks: the aforementioned "Sorgens Kammer – Del II" and "Abmaktslave", plus a live DVD of an entire set filmed from last year's Ozzfest.
DIMMU BORGIR are scheduled to begin writing material for their next studio album this fall for a tentative late 2006 release. The CD, which will feature a guest appearance by MAYHEM's Hellhammer on drums, will be "a full story/concept album," according to a posting on the group's web site.

~NEAERA News update~

Hi everybody!
It’s about time for another one of them steamin’ hot news updates! After having to spend the last week recovering from some more or less serious cases of sudden disease, and even being forced to cancel two concerts, we are finally back and able to frequently check our site and answer your people’s questions, should you have any.

As you all know, we have spent the better part of the last month travelling and moshing through Europe with the HELL ON EARTH tour.

We want to thank all the people who made this tour such a great and overwhelming experience for us, meaning especially our tour and stage managers Schlumpf and Danny of M.A.D tourbooking, all the great people and our brothers in End of Days and Agents of Man and our friends in Evergreen Terrace, Heaven Shall Burn and As I Lay Dying, all the promoters who organised the shows, but most of all YOU, the fans, all you people who have embraced our music in such a positive and awesome way. What a great first tour to be on, what a great tour for EVERYBODY involved!

We want to ask you people to please SEND US PICTURES of all the shows if you happen to have any. We would be very grateful for some nice photos, and we will also post the ones we like most on this site! So please, keep ‘em coming, the mail address is band@neaera.com !!!

Unfortunately the show in Cottbus was cancelled, we hope to see you people in Leipzig :)!!!

We will spend the next couple of weeks writing more new material and hopefully – yet probably – wrapping up our second full-length, which – as you all know – will be recorded in January 2006 at Danish Hansen Studios with Jacob Hansen at the helm. We are anxious to record our second album. From where we are at this point in the songwriting process, we can say that it will be a very diverse album, both melodic and brutal. The title of the record will be that of one of the songs off of it, namely LET THE TEMPEST COME

The artwork for the album will be done by our friend Adam Hunt, drummer in US grindcore sensation GRAF ORLOCK and former member of AS HOPE DIES (rip). We will of course keep you people updated on the whole developing process of the album in the days ahead.
The online shop will remain closed for some time due to us being short of merch (oops…). As soon as we have new stuff available, the shop will be opened again.
One last thing: Due to the loss of his Music Man Stingray bass on the HELL ON EARTH tour, our bass player was forced to sell his backup bass in order to be able to afford a new Stingray bass. In case you want to check out the auction, here’s a link:

Thanks for looking!
Well, that should be about it for now, hope to see you people at one of our next shows! Stay brutal!

Cheers,
Neaera

~VEHEMENCE calls it a day~

VEHEMENCE CALLS IT QUITS
“8 years after it all started, we decided that now is the time to throw in the towel. It was fun, and we would like to thank all the people who have supported us along the way. Vehemence was and is a huge part of our lives, but at this point its time to start fresh. The death of Vehemence has since spawned 3 new bands from its ex members. Abigail Williams featuring Mark, Andy and Bjorn of Vehemence(www.myspace.com/abigailwilliams), He Who Binds Himself featuring Nathan (www.myspace.com/hewhobindshimself), and as John stated “I'm looking for members for a new band and I am also available for touring. Currently I'm also affiliated with several other side projects which I will release soon.”
We still have a batch of new shirts coming this year, as well as a new remixed version of our first self released disc entitled The Thoughts From Which I Hide, that will be available exclusively at www.vehemence.com.

Vehemence may do shows every now and then, but will not be a full time band. Just keep checking our website as that will still be up and running.”

~Line-up change in VOMITORY~

Ulf Dalegren leaves VOMITORY:

“We are very sorry to break the news that guitarist Ulf Dalegren has decided to leave Vomitory after fifteen years in the band. Life changes quite a lot during fifteen years and the priorities we need to make change as well along with it. We hate to see Ulf go, but we understand and respect his decision to 100%. We part our musical ways as the best of friends and continue as drinking companions just as usual. We wish him the best of luck with everything in the future!
Uffe - we salute you!” – VOMITORY

Here are Ulf's own words:
“It’s with great sadness in my worm infested death metal heart that I have to announce my departure from Vomitory. I feel that there’s no need for details. It’s on a personal level, that’s it. All I can say is that there are no hard feelings between me and the other guys. I wish them all the luck and hope that the band will be out there spreading high quality death metal for many years to come. I’ll return, don’t know where - don’t know when.

Death is meant to last forever

/Ulf

VOMITORY will be playing the scheduled shows in the UK, Ireland, The Netherlands and Sweden in November just as planned. The bands good friend Lord K Philipsson (The Project Hate/God Among Insects) will be helping out on the November shows. Kudos to K!
After the November shows VOMITORY will begin searching for a new permanent guitarist. More updates on this later.

~BOLT THROWER – Photos~

~KATAKLYSM - Singer Maurizio to write autobiography book~

"Well I've been thinking about it for a long time during the last few years, especially when I'm on tour and all the band members of other bands are like "Dude we had no idea about the sh*t you guys been through"... We would talk about fun things and sad things all night long over beers and hard liquor, they would always tell me "Dude you should write a book" and I always said maybe one day.

So what better time then now? Next year will mark the band's 15th anniversary and I'm damn proud of what we've achieved. For some it ain't much but for me it's everything, so I decided to set the record straight on EVERYTHING , we've kept many things to ourselves over the years ,and i think it will be cool read . I really got convinced last week when mags from Europe were in town listening to my new album and then we had a BBQ at my house.

The day before they left and again, the same thing: "Bro, put that sh*t in a book! Do it!"... So ok fu*k it, let's do it. I talked to Nuclear Blast about it, they said let's go for it. So next year sometime... "Kataklysm / The Northern Hyperblast: uncut " book will be released. I've been writing for the past few days and this is really exciting... So stay tuned for more details.

In other news, Kataklysm have secured the co-headliner position for the No Mercy Festivals tour in Europe held next March. Some shows in the Quebec area are also planned for December.

Kataklysm's new album "In the Arms of Devastation" is currently being mixed in Denmark by acclaimed producer Tue Madsen.

~OMNIUM GATHERUM - New synth player~

Omnium Gatherum have a new synth player on board; Aapo Koivisto played this summer’s gigs as a new session keyboardist of OG and things went so well and we had so great time that we decided to make him a permanent member. It´s important to be also a great dude as also great player when you´re in a band and Aapo is both of them. He´s also an overactive-animal on stage, so he´s perfect spice to OG-crew! Behind this link you´ll find a new band picture!

OG have confirmed two in-door festival shows for Finland to this year:

Nov.04 - Rocklinna Metalfest, Hämeenlinna @ Kulttuuritukku
Nov.12 - Räntämetalli Festival, Kouvola @ Icehall

~BLIND GUARDIAN - Update from Hansi Kursch~

BLIND GUARDIAN frontman Hansi Kürsch has posted the following message at the band's web site:

"Although time keeps on ticking quickly, things go very well in the GUARDIAN camp. To be more precise: We are still on schedule, and even though everyone is totally busy and concentrated, the atmosphere is very lifely and still relaxed to a certain extent. The material for the single will be accomplished at the end of November.

To make that happen, this particular stuff will get most of our attention for the next four weeks. Everyone is already involved in the recording process and we are really excited about the album's progression. It is too early to say when we will be finished exactly, but I would say a worldwide release in the first half of 2006 is very realistic.

Things look (and sound, as well) very promising. At the moment we are also getting deeper into details such as album title, cover, etc. So, we are about to scratch the most important phase of the recording session and we do not intend to leave you out. Please, let us work on it a little longer, so we can fix things technically. You will be provided with footage, that is for sure."

BLIND GUARDIAN recently replaced drummer Thomen Stauch, who left the band in April after 20 years. The new man behind the kit is fellow German Frederik Ehmke, who is said to be "fairly unknown in the world of metal." Ehmke has played with medieval rockers SCHATTENTANTZ before.

The production of BLIND GUARDIAN's debut album for Nuclear Blast Records is being handled by producer Charlie Bauerfeind. Working songtitles include "Carry the Blessed Home", "The Edge", "In Search for the Lionheart", "Market Square", "Another Stranger Me", and "Otherland".

"The mixing will happen in the beginning of July," Jari writes on the group's web site. "There´s still work that needs to be done with the songs, but I'm sure we'll get there. I believe that this will be a very strong album and I'm very excited about it!"

WINTERSUN's lineup:

~Line-up change in SYMPHORCE~

Right after an amazing tour, Sascha suddenly decided to leave after more than 4 years in the band. His decision was based on personal reasons.

But since we have to take things as they come, we´re proud to announce two guest drummers for the shows that are already booked and confirmed!

We will be helped out by Andy Flache (who is well known as one of our chief roadies from hell) and Steffen Theurer (ex-Chinchilla/Woodpeckers).

We hope to get everything fixed in time and hope Sascha will find his way.

We´re looking forward to even more amazing shows and are ready to rock da house!”

~Metal Blade Records signs 3~

Metal Blade Records is very proud to welcome the Woodstock, NY based band 3 to the MB family!

3 is a band apart: Dark yet uplifting, spiritual without any connection to religion - theirs is a sound that transcends the genre conformity of modern pop culture. Rapid-fire acoustic guitar infused with dynamic percussion, animated drumming and thunderous bass culminate in a listening experience that is at once accessible and unique. Poly-rhythms pulse within a symphony of driving metal guitars and melodic vocal acrobatics. 3 offers musicality without pretension. We double dare any music writer to describe the sound.

3 came together in the mid -1990's and very quickly developed a strong local following. In the year 2000, 3 landed a recording contract with Planet Noise Records, and released their debut CD, Paint By Number, an exquisite collection of 14 tracks.

In 2003, 3 released their follow up CD, Summer Camp Nightmare, an album that marked an evolutionary leap in the bands already highly developed sound. When fellow NY-based rockers Coheed and Cambria got their hands on this record they insisted that 3 hit the road with them, and the rest, as they say, is history.

Enter 2005, the band singed to Metal Blade Records and prepared the re-release of Wake Pig, which was previously released by Planet Noise Records in 2004, with new art and lyrics which were not in the earlier version, two new songs, a couple of remixes, and Max’s vocals added to the song “Where’s Max”.

Wake Pig will be released in Europe through Metal Blade Records in January of 2006!
Here´s some additional info where you can check out the music of 3!

· 3 featured on AOL Music CD Listening Party! AOL Music is giving you the chance to hear the complete new record, Wake Pig from Metal Blade’s newest signing, 3, before it hits stores! Starting Sunday October 30th through Saturday November 5th, go HERE to stream the entire 3 album Wake Pig.
