Commented director Sami Rämä: "As a fan of KORPIKLAANI, I've always had a vision of my ideal music video for them, so you can imagine how excited I was when Jonne told me that I have 'free hands' on writing and directing this one. I have to say that I got carried away with the storyline, but even as we were working on a shoe lace budget, we managed to make all the wild ideas come true. We've been freezing our fingers off in the Finnish nuclear winter, as well as sweating when we decorated a cottage into another building. A big thank you goes to the crew, actors and all the related people who contributed just for the pure joy of being part of the production. The video was shot in two days and in two different locations, other introducing the story of the lumberjack and the other showing the band in their own element. The video shooting for their current single Gameboy - which will be released on Feb. 22nd - has turned into a big party. Sexy, colourful and enriched with lots of spectacular dancing, the clip, shot by the company Huckleberryking from Nürnberg, shows the band acting in an 80es-robot-style. Dressed in suits and masks the band had to perform from seven in the morning until late at night. A professional shadow dancer could add several erotic moments to the video. For the dancing performance, the band was doubled by the German dance group daROOKIES who showed several spectacular saltos backwards as well as head-spins. And, as one can see in the clip, these guys are absolute professionals: The daROOKIES from Magdeburg are the current winners of the official world championship for breakdance and have already gotten famous by performing at several big events such as Mc Donald ´s Roadshow, Cebit, Games Convention or the big new year ´s party in Berlin. After long and careful deliberation, partly influenced by her recent health issues, Nienke has come to the decision that she would henceforth like to devote more of her time to her own band DejaFuse and her work at the Graveland Studio. Since AUTUMN is about to enter a new and time-consuming chapter, writing the follow-up to 'My New Time', the time has now come for Nienke to part ways with AUTUMN and set a new course for herself. As we speak, AUTUMN is talking to a number of singers, exploring possibilities for a future together. In a few weeks’ time the new voice and face of AUTUMN will be announced. To send Nienke on her way in style, there will be two farewell shows in Holland next month. These shows will take place on February 15 at Gigant in Apeldoorn and on February 16 at Nirwana in Lierop. Some words from Nienke: "Dear all, "Leaving Autumn feels like severing one of my precious limbs; an extraordinarily painful event. As you’ve read, a mixture of feelings has led to this decision. At some point in the past year, my health seriously abandoned me for the first time in my life. As many of you may know, this forced me to pull out of a number shows. Though it felt horrible having to do this, it did force me to reflect on my life, activities and ambitions. "My life has gone through some serious changes in the last couple of years. Together with my partner, I’ve brought our studio (Graveland Studio) to a higher level, accelerated proceedings with my own band DejaFuse and started writing material for commercials, motion pictures and other artists. I had never dreamt of doing any of these things in such a way that the two of us could end up making a living off it. More and more, it became apparent to me that I was having difficulty combining all these activities in terms of time, energy and that bit of love you have to invest in them. It dawned on me that Autumn, its fans and all people involved in the band sometimes had to settle for less than the 100% dedicated Nienke that I’ve always been. This began to frustrate me and could in time end up having a negative effect on Autumn as a band. "So, after nine years , I am closing my chapter of the beautiful book that is Autumn, hoping there’ll be many more chapters to come. I am extremely proud of all we have achieved in the past nine years! We’ve had to overcome many adversities, but at the same time we’ve experienced more wonderful things than I’d ever thought possible. With the latest album, Autumn has increasingly developed a unique identity and is currently on a creative high. It gives me great joy that the lads wish to proceed along these lines. All the wonderful compositions these gentlemen have got in store for us, should definitely see the light of day. "For me, a period in time has now arrived in which I can completely focus on Graveland Studio and Dejafuse. A thrilling, but surely positively exiting time, preceded by this sad decision. I would like to thank my boys (Autumn), Patrick (our tour manager), the crew, the fans, our management, booker, record company and everyone I’ve had the pleasure of meeting, for these nine amazing years. I will forever cherish all the days and hours we’ve spent together and all the wonderful memories that spring from these. I hope I will get to hang out with you at one of the two farewell shows next month, before I leave the stage... "All my love and a big hug and see you in music or in life away from the stage!" Yet, Autumn has always been a peculiarly headstrong band: Gritting teeth and soldiering on in the face of adversity, determined to emerge from a crisis stronger and wiser, no matter what the cost. However, we’ve never faced a setback of this magnitude before and we can’t claim to have all the answers. "In trying times like these, one can only fall back on intuition and gut instinct. After having been tossed and turned back and forth for a while, things are finally clear to us: disbanding now would feel like the ultimate defeat. A band should quit while ahead and we feel that, through all past setbacks, we’ve far from developed our full potential yet. Autumn can still grow, has the desire to achieve so much more. Throughout the years, we’ve gathered a priceless blend of musicians, crew, management, bookers, record label and last but not least fans, around us. And that makes Autumn what it is for us: a vital part of our lives, too precious to give up without a proper fight. And though we realize it’s quite a risk to set sail again with a new lady at the helm, we feel we owe it to ourselves (and quite possibly to you reading this) to take that risk and see where this journey leads us. Therefore we are now operating with two line-ups so we can get on tours, including Juri Sallinen on vocals. Sallinen appeared on our 2005 split 7" (woodcut records) and has helped us doing random live shows in our home country since 2004 so for us things are like they've been for years now and together we've moulded into a properly working live band which we now want to represent to audiences. The album, recorded with producer Casey Bates (Chiodos, Heavy Heavy Low Low) takes their piano propelled songs that layer spastic hardcore noise atop fractured Soul inspired pop to a new level, one that emphasizes - well - good times, tells vocalist Eric Nally. 'The whole point of the album is to be a feel-good dance party. We stepped up our game while throwing our whole selves and personality quirks in it, making the album very centered and focused on our development.' The songs are varied, and there are a few head scratchers thrown in the mix, tells Nally. 'One song, Dangerous Man, is meant for the soundtrack of a Robin Hood film. Another song, Red Cape Diver, is about a bull fighter who is telling his family that he loves them before he goes off to work. But most of the songs are just about having a good time.' The first single off of their record, and one of the biggest party-starters, Yes Yes Yes! is making its debut on Myspace this month. Foxy Shazam has been taking their party mobile since their formation in 2004. The quintet from Cincinnati, OH, which consists of Nally, Loren Turner (guitar), Daisy (bass), Sky White (piano), and Joe Halberstadt (drums) are currently out on tour with Heavy Heavy Low Low and Tera Melos, and have booked their own tours in the past with Tub Ring, Look What I Did, and others. Speaking on their direction, Turner admits 'we decided early on not to hold back on any kind of sound as long as it sounds good, we will use it.' The result is a divergent sound that doesn’t fit comfortably in any one genre but reaches across many. 'We’ve always gone over well with our live shows whether playing to a bar full of old guys or a VFW hall full of hardcore kids we also draw a positive reaction.' Through this intense live show experience, the band has drawn a fanbase in many national markets. While their shows tend to get a little wild, for example the band playing to reckless abandon including White playing the piano with a severed deer hoof and Nally putting out a lit cigarette on his cheek, the emphasis is on the visible, soulful nature of the music. 'We tend to be really theatrical because we are so passionate about the music. It really moves us, and we don’t need props to show it.' The band released their debut album The Flamingo Trigger (2005), and then went on to tour exhaustively, performing over two hundred shows within a span of eighteen months. The word of mouth about the band began to spread catching the attention of many, including The Number Twelve Looks Like You's front man and band manager, Jesse Korman. Foxy Shazam was then quickly introduced by Jesse to Nick Storch of New Weathermen Records. Storch recalls "He (Korman) told me I had to check them out and at first I had no idea what was going on in their music and put it aside. A few weeks later I put their demos back in with a fresh mind and it clicked right away, these guys are chaotic but there's also a real pop sensibility that doesn't usually occur with bands this far out."
