CHEERLEADER Vegas Or Bust (2011)

Cheerleader

Debut album from this Swedish out that has both modern and retro rock'n'roll influences. The band's name is quite apt as the music is often upbeat, ballsy and catchy.

There is a technical modern sleaze feel to many tracks, influences being Foo Fighters and Aerosmith.

But underneath that there is a bluesy doomy rock'n'roll feel that ranges from Motorhead meets The Cult on 'My Love To Someone Else' (a radio oriented track) to a more stoner Sabbath on 'Serving Sam'. The acoustic number is memorable and has a party feel to it too.

If this band are half as energetic onstage as they are on CD then they'll be well worth checking out.
