WORK OF ART Artwork Frontiers (2008)

Another Swedish AOR/melodic rock band who have produced a 'must have' debut album, especially for lovers of 80's era Toto.

The band has a core of three members including vocalist Lars Safsund, who has a lovely, rich melodic voice. 'Why Do I?' and 'Maria' start the album off in style with plenty of keyboards, guitar riffs and of course soaring vocal harmonies.

'Camelia' is a real stand out track, although it does sound uncannily like Toto's 'Pamela' on the chorus! Lovely choruses on this one and again cracking guitar riffs that don't dominate the overall sound. 'When U Sleep' takes it down a level, although the album could do with one real standout, big production ballad.

The good thing about this band is that they do rock more overall than many fellow AOR/melodic rock bands, just listen to 'Cover Me' or 'Peace Of Mind' for proof.

If you love mid-late 80's era Toto and Giant then grab this album as it has some wonderful songs and I am sure it is an album you will still be playing many years down the line.
