MILLION ‘Kingsize’ Majestic MAJCD049 (2004)

This metal act have taken very modern and slightly European sound - still trad metal but hard, fast, polished, slick production, guitar/keyboard duelling; you name it it’s all here.

It’s actually a pleasant surprise to find keyboards in a modern metal album done so well.

Nothing flash (no Tony Carey here) - but intricately it works well. There is a neo classical influences in places, Iron Maiden in others.

Some tracks ('Eyes Of A King') are very strong, while others ('Rock’n’Roll Nation') are weaker without actually bad.

This is the sort of stuff Classic Rock magazine should be covering. Big Time.

***½
