EIDOLON The Parallel Otherworld
Escapi Music EMUS20056 (2006)

With brothers Glen Drover (guitars) and Shawn (drums) fresh off the road with Megadeth, the band have regrouped for another strong power metal album.

The opening title track combines several rhythms, and 'Arcturus #9' is more akin to a beefed up early Megadeth.

Strong vocals, and while the guitars and drums are both excellent they don’t always seem in harmony. In places a tad disjointed but nothing serious.

'Ghost World' is suitably spooky, and 'Thousand Winters Old' is all out thrash and worth checking out.

The change of pace throughout the album works well, a good paced power metal album with cover art that belongs to a James Herbert ghost story.

***½
