Ten Questions with...

SCOTT IAN (Anthrax)

Currently touring the world in support of their oft delayed album, 'We've Come For You All', here is Scott Ian.. (Thanks to Karl for passing on the questions & the Newswire members who sent in questions - expect on very happy Canadian later on!) More at -

1. What are you currently up to?

Just finished a European tour. Lots of festivals and headline shows.

2. What has been the highlight(s) and lowpoints(s) of your career to date?

Every record, every tour. My career is my highlight. The lowest was Cliff Burton dying.

3. How did you first get into the music business? Who have been your main influences on your career to date?

I saw Kiss in 1977. That changed everything. AC/DC, Sabbath, Priest, Maiden, Ramones, all influences.

4. What are your personal highlights on the new album, 'We've Come For You All' and why? What are the classic Anthrax songs in your view?

Safe Home, What Doesn't Die, Black Dahlia, Cadillac Rock Box, Nobody Knows Anything. Classics? Any song we can play 1000 times and not be bored. Caught In A Mosh is a good example. Only as well.

5. How did the joint tour with Motorhead go last year? Any other bands you would like to tour with and any bands you wish you never toured with?

It was great. Lemmy rules. I would love to tour with AC/DC.

6 .When are you going to come to Canada? The last time I saw you was with Pantera in 1997. The Canucks "Want you to come for us all". (From a Canadian fan obviously!)

We played Montreal in May. We'll be back for more Canadian dates in August and September.

7. You have a very patriotic fan base, so how does it feel to know that your fans have been with you all these years?

It's the best.

8. What are your top 5 heavy-metal songs of all time?

It would take me a year to narrow it down.

9. What do you do in your spare time outside of music?

Write. Snowboard. Read. Movies.

10. Message to your fans...

THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!
