RMS ‘Live At The Venue 1982’
Angel Air Records SJPCD174 (2004)

Yet another jazz fusion and self indulgent light rock. This may have been the band’s first ever concert and the crowd may be appreciative, but no amount of tight performance (much credit there to be honest), excellent musicianship or ‘names’ in the band can make this enjoyable.

Featuring Ray Russell, Mo Foster and Simon Phillips, amongst others, it’s an instrumental affair that fluctuates between jazzy lounge music and annoying jazz rock. To sit through a whole concert of this would destroy my soul.

For what it is the music is excellent and well produced. Noodling, mind numbing and maddening all the same.
