STATUS QUO Better Than That  Fourth Chord Records

Even though the singles market is all but gone for rock bands Status Quo still faithfully release them (most probably for their large fanbase many of whom are keen collectors).

They are one of rock's most successful acts singles wise and this, their third of their recent 'Quid Pro Quo' album, is another Quo classic. Instantly catchy and sure to please fans, plus get them onto daytime airplay with the likes of Radio 2. Two live versions of tracks off the new album as well - 'Two Way Traffic' and 'Let's Rock' - both good time rockers.

The mighty Quo march on... ****

OVERWEIGHT Chapter 11 (EP)  www.myspace.com/overweightmusic

Upbeat and uptempo ska; this 5 track EP features the Ska of the Specials (trumpet and trombone included) with the tempo of a party - Bad Manners meets Splodgenessabounds rocking out.

Opener 'Turbo' really stands out, but then all the tracks are good.

Uptempo Ska fun. ***
