GOOD THINKING Turning The Clock Back
www.good-thinking.me.uk (2011)

Good Thinking

A band who first appeared in the 70's but like many bands never quite made the next step up popularity wise. The band are back with their first new music since the 70s, mainly inspired by their original drummer Mark Evans, who found fame in Warrior Soul, before his tragic death back in 2005.

This is an labour of love, with six new songs and five from sessions recorded back in 1974. GRTR!'s own Noel Buckley had a hand in getting the band back in motion and a good job too!

Turning first to the new songs there is the single, 'Warrior Soul' the band's own musical tribute to Mark Evans. It is very fitting and fits in with the reflective nature of the other songs including 'Turning The Clock Back' that has a 60's pop vibe and a touch of Roy Orbison in the vocals in places.

'Where The Journey Takes Me' and 'Tell Me' again mix the 60's pop sound with some 70's guitar heroics and a decent chorus. Considering the budget limitations the sound is very good and based on these six songs the band have more than enough in their collective tank to have another decent go at the beast that is the music business!

The 1974 songs mix some classic OTT musicianship and extended soloing on 'Good Thinking' through to 60's pop on 'What You Going To Do'. From these songs you can hear where the band carried on musically in the newer songs.

Worthy of a listen for lovers of 70's classic rock with a 60's pop sensibility and hopefully now the band can gain another chance in the limelight.
