SEAHAGS Rock Candy (2007)

Once hailed as the new G’n’R (god help us), their one and only album sees the light again here and will please fans of period sleaze. Sadly (or is that thankfully?) they took the sex, drugs and rock’n’roll lifestyle even further and that’s what killed the band (quite literally in the case of bassist Chris Schlosshardt).

The album actually had a range of good moments, various takes on sleaze. 'Doghouse' for instance is quite bluesy. 'Someday' is slower and more balladic yet quite heavy at the same time.

The album is better than most of the genre, but still not great; 'Bunkbed Creek' is disjointed and sounds like a jam.

Well annotated though, with band involvement and extra tracks. A very full picture.

If you remember the name it’s worth checking out.
