THE SHADOWS The Final Tour (Eagle Vision Cat No EREDV410) (2004)
Final fling for Hank B and the boys...

The Shadows are one of the most successful British bands of all time, with a hit single or album in 6 separate decades and can be credited with influencing guitarists such as Brian May, Mark Knopfler and Eric Clapton (and millions of us worldwide!!!!).

This DVD was shot in Cardiff earlier this year on their 'Final Tour'. Playing 40 songs in around 3 hours, we are treated to 21 top 20 hits, the instantly recognizable Shadows sound and let’s not forget 'THOSE' stage moves!!!

A high percentage of the songs played are instrumentals but there are vocals on a number of outstanding songs including Eurovision entry (they came second) 'Let Me be The One' and the slower 'My Home Town'- a moving story about growing up in the 1940’s and 50’s in North West England.

There is also the acoustic, and Latin, feel of 'Guitar Tango', the beautiful rendition of 'Don’t Cry for Me Argentina'. We are given a rousing set of Cliff Richards and The Shadows numbers, which includes 'Summer Holiday' and 'Bachelor Boy', and of course we have the song that sums up this legendary band in one word- 'Apache'.

The Bonus feature on this DVD is 'The Final Tour Interview', which is a fantastic look at the history of the band from Hank Marvin and Bruce Welch meeting at school right up to their very last show at Londons Palladium. This concert is also being released as a CD and there is no doubt both are going to sell VERY well. It is a phenomenal package of a phenomenal band. Go on Your Majesty- give them a Knighthood!!!!
