THE PARIAHS The Pariahs
Fading Ways Music (Cat No FWR040)(2005)

The Pariahs hail from Canada and were formed in 1989. Having supported the likes of The Ramones, Therapy and The Deftones, and with a large underground following at home- this is their first CD to be released in the UK and they can soon be seen supporting label mates The Diamond Dogs.

There are 9 tracks on the album and you can hear the bands love of The Ramones throughout. However, the best tracks lend a healthy nod to Iggy Pop, they are “Essential” and “Yellow Alert”. There is also a tribute to Joan Jett, namely “Joan Jett”.

Fans of bands such as The Wildhearts should enjoy this album.

***** Out of this world | **** Pretty damn fine |
*** OK, approach with caution unless you are a fan |
** Instant bargain bin fodder | * Ugly. Just ugly
