STEPHEN PEARCY Rat Attack
Mausoleum 251076 (2005)

Stephen Pearcy, along with Ratt, were one of the more successful US glam rock bands of the 1980’s. Having left the band in 2000, and with the band still touring (with vocalist Jizzy Pearl) some might say that releasing an album of re-recorded Ratt songs was not the best idea. However, Pearcys’ distinctive voice is as strong as ever and the songs have a more modern feel to them.

There is great guitar work from LA Guns Tracii Guns on tracks 'Lay it Down' and 'Back for More' whilst George Lynch plays on six tracks including the outstanding 'Round and Round'. Before Ratt became Ratt they were known as Mickey Ratt and original bassist Matt Thorne and guitarist Jake E Lee also put in an appearance on the CD playing on 4 original Mickey Ratt songs. Overall there are 17 tracks here, the main question I had after listening to the CD was 'Will Ratt ever reform?'
