STAMPEDE QUEEN ‘A Night At The Cockfights’ Perris PER01432 (2004)

From the same label as Empire, this is a more raunchíníroll outing. Think touches of Black Crows and Dogs DíAmour, touches of AC/DC and perhaps GíníR. Even Junkyard.

Opener 'Never Turn Your Back on RockíníRoll' describes the set perfectly. Itís all slightly derivative but the gravelly whiskey soaked vocals suit it all down to the ground.

Thereís a rough sound to the music all the way through, with a glam touched sing along attitude too.

The guitar intro to ĎMister Saturday Nightí is SO AC/DC, but this is hard rockíníroll, not the tongue in cheek mockery of The Darkness.

In Yer Face. Beginning to end. Another class set.

***½

***** Out of this world | **** Pretty damn fine |
*** OK, approach with caution unless you are a fan |
** Instant bargain bin fodder | * Ugly. Just ugly
