PLASTICLAND Make Yourself A Happening Machine - A Collection Rykodisc RCD10850 (2006)

This 80s band mixed psych, rock, mod and all sorts of other weird and wonderful things, to produce a weird and not quite so wonderful sound. Think the Small Faces and The Who meet Sid Barrett.

Plenty of beefed up retro 60s sounds, with the mellotron adding to the period sounds.

Some interesting attitudes and tunes, and droning and monotonous bass lines too. The colours on the booklet will have you reaching for the bucket, and in places the music has a similar effect. If you can survive it that far, you may find it enjoyable.
