PEO ‘Look What I've Started’ MTM/SPV 085-59992 (2004)

Swedish multi instrumentalist Peo Patterson, the man behind Axia, produced and played on over 100 albums in the 80s (great things these press releases you know). No mean feat. This debut album from 1990 gets a full re-release with 5 bonus tracks. But who it’ll appeal to I’m not quite sure.

The music is smooth and polished AOR, with keyboard intros and occasional guitar flourishes. Nothing wrong with that, it’s all good stuff, but there’s so much of this from the late 80s about. The saxophone solo in 'Only One Love' is pretty dated.

The music’s good, but it’s just quite hard to get excited about it.

**½

***** Out of this world | **** Pretty damn fine |
*** OK, approach with caution unless you are a fan |
** Instant bargain bin fodder | * Ugly. Just ugly
