MOTHER'S FINEST
Live At Villa Berg: Right Here Right Now

MTM/SPV 0681-162 / SPV64472 (2006)

Mixing funk, r'n'b and heavy metal, MF have always been innovative since their formation in the 70s.

This set kicks off with 4 new studio numbers, and opener 'Do Me Right' is a strong number, well they all are, and a real treat for fans.

We then get 15 live numbers, an enthusiastic and energetic live set. Baby Jean's vocals are stronger than most male singers and they suit the music well.

'Funk A While' is as good a number by anyone, it's heavy and with attitude, remaining coherent. The guitar solo would match any metal band - great stuff.

Sadly it's a 2 disc set and the promo a single disc, so I don't get to hear the medley of 'Satisfaction / Born To Be Wild' but if the rest of the album is anything to go by, then Go Buy.
