HUBI MEISEL Kailash Lion Music (2006)

Vocalist Meisel's new album is a concept set, based around the Himalayas, incorporating Hindu and Buddhist mythology. Two years in the making, and with a full line-up (2 guitars and keyboards), it's a solid progressive metal affair.

While opener 'Potala Palace' is in places disjointed, it features some amazing and fluid solos.

The music is heavy throughout and gets more fluid. Yet good though it all is, Meisel's vocals sound rather too ‘Pet Shop Boys'. Good, and a great effort, but you need a stronger voice for this kind of music.

The music is often atmospheric, in places with elements of Don Airey's K2 with heavier guitars. The 10 minute epic 'Wheel Of Life' is the most progressive of the lot. A lot of fun too.

The limited digipak features 2 bonus tracks too.
