GIGANTOUR SPV/Steamhammer SPV 97962-2CD (2006)

This double live CD highlights the bands that played on 2005's Gigantour, an alternative to Ozfest organised by Megadeth's Dave Mustaine.

Disc 1 kicks off with 2 tracks by Dream Theater, a prog take on power metal with intelligence. The takes on 'Panic Attack' and 'The Glass Prison' will please fans and serve as a good intro to the band - a fine way to start.

One of the highlights are Anthrax; the Belladonna fronted band are a force to be reckoned with and the two Among The Living classics 'Caught In A Mosh' and 'I Am The Law' make for essential listening. They've lost none of their edge.

There's 3 tracks from Megadeth: 'She-Wolf', 'A Tout Le Monde' and 'Kick The Chair' all well worth your money.

Add on 2 tracks apiece from Life Of Agony, Dry Kill Logic, Bobaflex, Fear Factory, Nevermore and Symphony X (some excellent, some more ordinary) and you get a thrash fans' dream.

A touring festival well worth checking out.
