GARY WRIGHT Gary Wright's Extraction / Footprint
BGO BGOCD699

Wright hit the big time with the solo album Dream Weaver in 1975; these two date from '70 and '71, in-between stints with Spooky Tooth as organist and vocalist.

These two albums are pretty typical early 70s sets, if also uninspiring. Short too - the two albums combined run at under 70 minutes.

The guitar and keyboards do work well, and the horns and slide guitar add a nice extra dimension.

Nothing wrong with the tunes, it is very enjoyable in places, but more as funked up back ground rather than gripping. Well packaged as usual from BGO though.

**½
