FUNNY MONEY ‘Back Again’ Perris PER01372 (2004)

This deleted album gets a re-release, remastered (by Rodney Mills) and with live bonus tracks from the Even Better Live CD.

It’s good strong metal, if rather indifferent in places. Kix vocalist Steve Whiteman provides a glam/AOR combination, and there’s a nod towards rock’n’roll in places. And while there are some strong guitar solos in places, there are equal moments of blandness.

The performance, production et al are all actually ok. It’s just they go kinda nowhere. I’m sure both band and label have done better.

**½
