DEL BROMHAM ‘Devil's Highway’
(Trigger Happy Music THM040204)(2004)

This singer/guitarist has produced an excellent blues album, ranging from acoustic to full electric blues. The vocals suit the music, and the guitar features some great slide. Solo notes burst out from the rhythm at just the right moments, not wanting to over do as many try to do.

The music doesn’t always flow smoothly, and the bluegrass touch on ‘That’s Alright Mama’ may be welcome and correct, doesn’t fit it with the feeling for the whole album. Still, tracks like ‘Train’ and ‘Whisky, Wine And Beer’ do add some nice guitar touches. It’s not an album you’d sit down and listen to intentionally, but very soothing and enjoyable if you’re at the computer or working already.
