CRIMSONFIRE Majestic Rock MAJCD067 (2005)

Formed in 1997 by guitarist Anthony Tabone and keyboard player Dianne Melichar, this Australian band finally release their debut set, and it’s a complete pleasure. Grandiose in performance and production, Bruce Dickinson style vocals, touches of pomp and operatic European melodic speed metal.

“A New Dawn” is a fine pomp number, while “Reign In Fire” is more metallic. The keyboard touches work well.

The piano opening on “Morning Of The Magician” is excellent and changes the pace of the album well. Overall the album is layered and solid, making it thoroughly enjoyable.
