COSMIC ROUGH RIDERS ‘Too Close To See Far’ Measured Records MRCOSMIC001 (2003)

Despite losing their original vocalist leaving, the band has found a replacement from within in Stephen Fleming. Now if you like Crosby, Stills & Nash, Poco, the Byrds and fellow harmony led bands then you have to check this band out. Cracking harmonies on the summery ‘Justify The Rain’ and ‘For A Smile’, whilst the guitars get cranked up for ‘Because You’ (the recent UK single). I must admit when I first heard this band’s debut album I was convinced it was a 1960’s album being re-released! Obviously you’ve got modern day production (the vocals are crystal clear and very crisp guitars) but listen to ‘Kill The Time’ or ‘The Need To Fly’. Great stuff!

A band well worth your attention and with bands like the Thrills and the Thorns doing well, this type of harmony music seems to be a hit with music fans.

*** OK, approach with caution unless you are a fan |
