Southampton based 5 piece ‘In Place Of Hope’ are another new band
entering the realm of hardcore metal, much in the vein of Parkway Drive.
This is a self titled 3 track EP which is a gloriously noisy affair.
The EP was recorded with Justin Hill of Sikth, which if you are aware of
his bands output, will give you some idea of what we are dealing with
here.
The three tracks on offer ,‘ Lifelines’, ‘Bridges’ and ‘Dark Roads
& White Knuckles’, are best described as brutal with the barking
vocals of Matt Dennison punctuating each track. The music is fast and
furious but well played with huge guitar riffs and a pulverising rhythm
section. This is definitely not for the faint of heart.
The EP shows a lot of promise and the band are currently in the
studio once more, again with Justin at the recording helm, so expect
more musical mayhem sometime in the near future.
