“Untapped” is the debut album from Houston’s Drought. The album is a solid piece of modern rock that will appeal to fans of Nickelback, Shinedown, and Alter Bridge etc- in particular tracks such as “Pick and Pen” and “Look At Me”.

Opening track “One Night Stand” is Simple Minds meets The Cult and has a nice guitar solo in there, “Highway 16” could easily be chart bound in the States if released as a single, whilst “Anymore” and “Because” are a little too US pop rock in feel. That said, “Wish You Everything” and “Born of Stone” can easily rescue that.

“Untapped” was produced by Todd Taz Anthony (Bang Tango, Dirty Looks) and mastered by Anthony Focx (Aerosmith, Buckcherry, Ace Frehley) so naturally has a good sound quality to it. It will be interesting to see where Drought go from here.

The album is available from iTunes, CD Baby and Amazon.
