Norway’s Seks claim they are going to save us from radio dominated by Hip Hop and pop- and whilst that may never happen, they have released a debut album that harks back to ‘80’s arena rock and it is not a bad effort either.

The band members may include the slightly dodgy names of Rock Hart (vocals), Gash A Lean (guitars) and Savage Thrilla (drums) but their musical style is in the right place. Tracks “On The Inside” and “Something To Believe In” musically have a feel of Dave Lee Roth’s early solo output, whilst “Hangin’ On” has some vocal harmonies that Extreme would be proud of.

There are great vocal harmonies and guitar work throughout “Harder Than You” and other highlights on offer include “Charlemagne”, “Rich Girl”, “Lick You Up” and “Forever”. The only downside to the album is that by the time you have listened to all 13 tracks, the material does tend to start feeling a bit familiar. Bonus track “Give It Up” is a demo recording that hopefully shows the direction the band are heading in.
