Trucker Diablo look like they should be from the American deep south, all beards, baseball caps and Mack Trucks, but they actually hail from the closer shores of Ireland. The band formed in 2008 and have garnered a lot of acclaim through hard work and self promotion ultimately leading to them being invited on to the 2011 Download festival bill, playing to an audience of 6000 including one Dee Snider from Twisted Sister.

This is the bands debut album and what a cracker it is. The band are purveyors of loud bar room rock with melodies and harmonies aplenty. Their sound has been likened to Black Label Society, Clutch and Thin Lizzy which sums them up nicely, in fact current Lizzy vocalist, Ricky Warwick, provides vocals on one of the albums stand out tracks ‘ Juggernaut’. Other songs of note are ‘ Stand Up And Fight’ and my personal favourite ‘ Drink Beer, Destroy’ which is a party anthem for 2012, one to get the beer- fuelled masses dancing.

If there is any justice then Trucker Diabo deserve a lot of success with this record and sound as though they are destined to be a festival favourite, hopefully another stint at Download in 2012 will be on the cards.
