VARIOUS Acoustic V2 (2002)
A 36 track compilation of acoustic based tracks, which mixes modern and
classic tracks but with more emphasis on newer artists. Highlights include
'Handbags and Gladrags' by the Stereophonics, 'Babylon' by David Gray, the
eerie 'Hallelujah' by Jeff Buckley and the Simon & Garfunkel classic 'The
Boxer'. Other artists featured include Aimee Mann, Feeder, Paul Weller,
Coldplay and Eva Cassidy. A very varied compilation, with the main problem
being that of any compilation - you rarely like every track! But then that
is the beauty of programmable CD players!
On the whole a strong compilation and great for chilling out to. But how
about a more rock orientated acoustic compilation? Plenty of good bands have
acoustic moments - Led Zep, Skynyrd, Queen, Metallica and I am sure it would
do well.
