Chuck Schuldiner - Zero Tolerance II

No, this is not the new CONTROL DENIED album, no this is not a new DEATH recording. These are the DEATH demo I called “Death by Metal” and the DEATH demo II called “Reign of Terror” in the best possible sound-quality. As bonus a really cool DEATH live-show (soundboard), recorded at the After Dark club in Texas during the Spiritual Healing-tour in 1990, with a lot of real and cool things happening during the show. And so far there is no cool live-recording available from those early days...
What will happen with the 'real' CONTROL DENIED album ? Maybe ask the Schuldiner family about that, we simply do not know and they still refuse to tell us sad enough. Anyway, enjoy, if you are a Death/Control Denied/Chuck Schuldiner fan you will like this.

SIEGE OF HATE (S.O.H.) was formed in April 1997 by Bruno and Amaudson as a response to the so-called return of Punk/HC which was taking place at that time. It was meant as a project against Punk fashion. When the line-up was completed by Ricarte and Wilker the project became a serious band. In April 1998 the demo-tape “Return to Ashes” was released and S.O.H. became a well-known name in Brazil. S.O.H. started to gig around and some participation on compilations was made as well. During the following years S.O.H. went through the usual rumble of line-up changes, preparing new songs, playing gigs and simply becoming mature and experienced. Finally by 2003 S.O.H. had gathered a stable line-up and the debut-album “Subversive by Nature” was recorded and in October 2003 released by Encore Records in South-America, and finally in March 2004 licensed to New Aeon Media for the rest of the world. You thought after Sepultura, Krisiun and Rebaelliun Brazil had played all its cards, well after hearing S.O.H. you will think again… we are very sure about that !!!

Finnish melodic Heavy Rockers DIVERCIA recently finished the recordings of their 2nd album titled 'CYCLE OF ZERO'.
Cycle of Zero was recorded and mixed at Sonic Pump & D-Studio in Finland. The album was mastered by Mika Jussila at the wellknown Finnvox Studios.
Cover-artwork was again created by Kristian Jokela (also responsible for the cover-artwork of the band's debut 'Modus Operandi').
Comment from the band on the new album...
"Now when all the recordings are done, we are pleased to express our contentment to the final result of our new album 'Cycle of Zero'. Cycle of Zero reflects the real sensation of our minds after all the changes happened in the period after the release of our debut album 'Modus Operandi'. The new album sounds way more aggressive & powerful compared to our debut and it features some furious and powerful guitar-riffs with both harsh and clean vocals. Blast beats are in good use within selected songs and the overall mood reflects the sorrowful sights of our home-country Finland. Furthermore we can announce Teemu Laitinen (known from Thy Serpent & Throne of Chaos) as our new drummer. Teemu already plays drums on the new album and we are very happy to have such a skilful and experienced drummer behind the drumkit now."
ANCIENT RITES

It's coalescence of the former 'Official WebCave' and the 'Ancient Hordes-Division Flanders' fansite. Always having stood close to its supporters, commonly known as 'Ancient Rites Troopers', the band is tightening the bonds with its following even further by now hosting its own forum where visitors will be able to have their say about various topics regarding the band as well as converse with the members themselves. Furthermore the band is currently writing new material for their upcoming new album, to be recorded and released in 2005. Last but not least Ancient Rites will play 3 festivals later on this year. Cruachan is confirmed to play the prestigious Bloodstock Festival in the UK. Furthermore the band will headline the Pagan Metal Festival in Germany. The festival will take place on the 20th of November at Jokus in Giessen, Germany. For Cruachan this is their first show in Germany ever. Forefather are already in the early stages of writing new material for their 5th album. Furthermore keep an eye out in the coming months for the FOLKEARTH album 'A Nordic Poem', for which Athelstan & Wulfstan have contributed the music to the track 'Rhyming With Thunder'. The Forefather brothers also contributed a cover of BURZUM's 'Beholding the Daughters of the Firmament' for a Burzum tribute album, to be released by German recordlabel Perverted Taste.

At the moment Finnish metallers Final Dawn are writing material for their upcoming 2nd album. So far the new songs are more melodic but still a lot heavier. Besides the band is scheduling some more shows at the end of the summer. Keep an eye on their website.

After 6 years in Morifade, lead vocalist Stefan has decided to leave the band.

Holland's leading oldschool Thrashers Occult will enter Stage One Studio in October to record the follow-up to their very successful 'Elegy for the Weak' album. The working title for the new album is 'Malevolent Rapture' and it will be produced once again by Thrash goeroe Andy Classen (a.o. DEW SCENTED, CALLENISH CIRLE & TANKARD). The new 'oldschool' Death Metal sensation Ribspreader (with Dan Swano in their ranks) recently finished writing material for their 2nd album titled 'Congregating The Sick'. The band (Ribspreader is not just a side-project!) will enter the studio in September. Dan Swano has left the drumkit and will be concentrating on doing lead guitars. Finnish deadly maniacs Torture Killer will take Deepred's place for the upcoming European Tour. The band will be supported by the bands Cropment (SWI) and Poppy Seed Grinder (CZE). PRIMORDIAL - Dark Romanticism
OVERVIEW
Chronological history - 1987; three young men start a metal band. 1988; the band moves from Thrash towards Death Metal and records a demo (which already contains a few Primordial-riffs). 1989; the band was still searching for the right vocalist.
1991; vocalist “Alan “Nemtheanga" Averill joins the band, influences move towards Black Metal acts such as Samael, Master’s Hammer, Mayhem and Bathory, first live show played in October and the band starts composing new material with Alan on vocals.
1992; a definitive step into the darker side of Metal, becoming a bit of an outcast within the Irish scene which is very eco-friendly at that time, the song “To Enter Pagan" is written, a live-classic still today and the name is taken of PRIMORDIAL !!!
In June 1993, the first demo “Dark Romanticism" is finally recorded, selling over 1.000 copies and still today it is seen as a classic Black Metal demo. Exactly that demo is the main chunk of this release. The demo resulted in getting signed to Cacophonous Records because a certain “Dani Filth" was pestering the label to sign PRIMORDIAL.
The recordings for the band’s debut-album “Imrama" took place in Ireland and in 1995 it was mixed by well known producer Mags at the famous Academy Studio in the U.K. We assume most of you know that after this PRIMORDIAL released their 2nd album “Journeys End" on Misanthrophy Records (label of Burzum, In The Woods…) and eventually ended up getting signed by Dutch label Hammerheart Records. This resulted in the classic albums “Spirit the Earth Aflame" (still seen as the bands best album so far) and “Storm Before Calm". PRIMORDIAL had grown up and became a well-respected band and for sure the most known extreme Irish Metal band.

DARK FUNERAL - Devil Pigs
OVERVIEW
This is not a new DARK FUNERAL album but it is their legendary debut-MCD, spiced up with two cool cover-songs (BATHORY songs to be precise) and if that’s not enough you will get VON’s classic MCD “Satanic Blood" which was an inspiration on Dark Funeral in their early days (Dark Funeral covered VON on their legendary debut album). All in all recordings as legendary and classic as Darkthrone’s “A Blaze in the Northern Sky" or Mayhem’s “Deathcrush".
On DARK FUNERAL we can add that the band is still a leader in the Black Metal scene, often imitated, but never equalled in their high speed, fast forward, yet technical Black Metal with a very big blasphemous touch.
VON is total cult- who they were and where they came from only a few souls on this planet know. The Satanic Blood recordings were tape-traded fanatically by Grishnackh and Samoth, who really adored it back then (1992-1993 era that is) and maybe VON is just as special as good old Beherit is !!!

SOULREAPER - Liferazer
OVERVIEW
The band SOULREAPER started shortly after the disintegration of DISSECTION. Tobias R. Kellgren (drums) and fellow band-mate Johan Norman (guitar) felt there was a need for a more brutal way of playing Death Metal in the Gothenburg area.
In October 1997 the name REAPER was taken and along came Mikael Lang (bass), Mattias Eliasson (lead-guitar) and Christoffer Hjerten (vocals). Mattias was later replaced by Christoffer Hermansson.
The first album “Written in Blood" was recorded in Gothenburg in January 1999. After the recordings Christofer Hermansson was replaced by Stefan Karlsson on lead-guitar. When the album was finished it also became clear that a few more bands were existing under the name REAPER so the band added SOUL and they transformed into SOULREAPER.
Of course Nuclear Blast was the label to work on SOULREAPER (obviously due to the Dissection-link) and in March 2000 the record was released and many positive reviews were taken in. Due to a lack of dedication of Nuclear Blast SOULREAPER recorded a new promo-CD which came in the hands of HAMMERHEART RECORDS and this label came to an agreement with SOULREAPER.
First a 7" with two demo-songs was released and later on in 2003 the real album called “Liferazer" was done. In all honesty SOULREAPER suffered a bit from Hammerheart’s change into KARMAGEDDON MEDIA so now the album is made available again, with the 7" and the Morbid Angel cover as extra songs !
of the melodic Death Metal approach of Dissection and the more American style of brutal Death Metal.

MONOLITH (a.k.a. THE MONOLITH DEATHCULT) is a fast rising Death Metal act from the Netherlands and their purpose is to teach all the morbidness and destructive power in the art of Death Metal to the musically stuffed to the gills audience. No blasé band names from medical handbooks, no bloody, illegible band logos or other numerous clichés of the shamelessly dry-bled genre, but an emotionless and hyper-modern character.
MONOLITH plays relentlessly complicated yet catchy Death Metal. Hyper speed drums complemented with screaming and growling guitars and a triple vocal attack are the mainstay for an hysterical Death Metal attack that will be unprecedented, especially in The Netherlands.
In a very short timespan MONOLITH have worked their way into the highest ranks of the highly acclaimed Dutch Death Metal scene. In November 2002 the band unleashed the 4-track promo 'Obliteration of the Despised' upon the unsuspecting Death Metal audience. Both national and international reactions were overwhelming, which resulted in a recorddeal with Cold Blood Industries. Fewer than two months after the release of the promo MONOLITH struck again with devastating force with their debut album entitled 'The Apotheosis'. For optimal marketing of this album MONOLITH embarked on 2 different European tours with The Crown (S) and Skinless (US).

Holland's premiere Death/Thrash-formation Callenish Circle will re-issue their complete pre Metal Blade Records history on a 2-CD !!!
The 2-CD is entitled 'Forbidden Empathy' and the release-date is set on the 20th of September through Karmageddon Media.
Brand new cover-artwork was designed by Swedish art-wizard Niklas Sundin @ Cabin Fever Media (a.o. In Flames, Arch Enemy, Dark Tranquillity).
All recordings were digitally remastered by Berthus Westerhuis @ Franky's Recording Kitchen in Holland.
