Meretto frontman Stu Bell describes the band's influences: "Drummer Stu likes the more metal end of the spectrum as well as a bit of prog. Me and Matt like most things from classical but are a bit more songwiting orientated...The Britpop era was big when we were growing up and we were children of the 80's so I think that that must rub off somewhere as well. Trying to get the ideal situation where we can get as many catchy musical ideas with 3 or 4mins, without trying to stick to formula too much" 'Chainsaw Art' is a confident debut from this Berkshire-based band. Although Chainsaw Art doesn’t provide the typical dancing art rock, that the indie kids just love, this album is a sure fire winner. Providing
reason after reason to follow this up- and- coming art rock/power pop
three piece- Meretto.****
