GUNS N' ROSES CHINESE DEMOCRACY NOVEMBER 24
Chinese Democracy has finally arrived. One of the most highly anticipated albums in rock history, the long-awaited Chinese Democracy marks the first album of new material from Guns N' Roses since 1991's simultaneous release of Use Your Illusion I and Use Your Illusion II. With a frenzied energy, Guns N' Roses arrived on the music scene in the mid-'80s and rock was never the same. Now the enormously influential G N' R is ready to rock once again.

Produced by Axl Rose and Caram Costanzo, Chinese Democracy includes 14 tracks. The title track and first single from the album, "Chinese Democracy", received its debut on Radio 1 this morning. Two of the recordings have been recently released--"Shackler's Revenge" debuted in the "Rock Band 2" videogame and "If The World" debuted in the film Body Of Lies.
"The release of Chinese Democracy marks a historic moment in rock 'n' roll," said Irving Azoff and Andy Gould, Guns N' Roses' co-managers, "and we're launching with a monumental campaign that matches the groundbreaking sound of the album itself. Seventeen years ago, the two previous original albums from one of rock's most intense and compelling bands, Use Your Illusion I and Use Your Illusion II, were issued simultaneously, a first for any contemporary artist. Featuring "November Rain", "Don't Cry", "You Could Be Mine" and "Live And Let Die", each album went seven times platinum. The band's 1987 full-length debut Appetite For Destruction has sold more than 28 million copies worldwide (18 times platinum in the U.S.) and is among the biggest-selling albums in history, notching three worldwide hits-- "Welcome To The Jungle", "Sweet Child o' Mine" and "Paradise City." Other albums include 1988's five times platinum G N' R Lies, 1994's "The Spaghetti Incident?" covers album and a Greatest Hits collection. Overall, Guns N' Roses has sold more than 90 million records worldwide.
THE HOP FARM FESTIVAL SETBACK
At a Licensing hearing on 11th Nov 08, the Tonbridge and Malling council committee rejected the application for the increase of capacity for The Hop Farm Festival, 1st weekend in July 09.
The reasons given by the committee were that they felt there wasn't enough information supplied for traffic plans, security camping etc.
We have an appeal hearing date of the 21st January 09, which we are confident that we can address all the concerns the committee and local residents have.
Please note that this doesn't affect the existing license and the proposed date for the festival in 09 is the 1st weekend in July.
Vince Power commented: "This seems to be the normality these days when applying for a licence. We had some complaints from the local village, which seem to be unfounded. I have been organising events and festivals for 25 years, from events at the Mean Fiddler such as The Reading and Leeds Festival to my involvement with Glastonbury and many other events. I have a good track record in this sector, as do the team I use. I am confident of obtaining the licence for increased capacity at the appeal in January”
The Hop Farm Festival will be releasing further updates as new developments occur.
ROCK LEGENDS LED ZEPPELIN TO RECEIVE FIRST-EVER FULLY ILLUSTRATED HISTORY TREATMENT IN SEPTEMBER 2008

ZOMBIES LAST PERFORMANCES OF ODYSSEY
The legendary psychedelic British rock band 'The Zombies' have announced that they will perform the entirety of their 1968 album 'Odessey & Oracle' during April 2009 for the very last time in the UK.
The band will play the following four UK concerts in 2009 - Glasgow ABC (April 21), Bristol Colston Hall (April 23), Manchester Bridgewater Hall (April 24) and London Hammersmith Apollo (April 25). The second half of the concert will see the band perform some of their best known songs from their classic albums staring off with 'Life in a Day' (1979), 'Reel To Reel Cacophony' (1979), 'Empires & Dance' (1980), right up to their groundbreaking first album with Virgin, 'Sons & Fascination' (1980) featuring the hit Love Song, plus songs from the album 'Sparkle in the Rain' (1984) that includes the hits Waterfront and Up On The Catwalk, as well as the U.S. No.1 hit single Don't You (Forget About Me) (1985).
The band will also perform songs from the album Once Upon A Time' (1985) featuring the massive global anthem Alive and Kicking. But that's not all. The band will also perform songs like Belfast Child from 1989's 'Street Fighting Years' right up to 2005's return-to-form album 'Black & White 050505' featuring the songs Home and Stranger.

MICHAEL SCHENKER GROUP REISSUES CONTINUE
After leaving UFO in 1978, legendary guitarist Michael Schenker returned briefly for a second stint in The Scorpions before deciding to form his own group - settling on a name that left no confusion about the creative force within the group!
To date The Michael Schenker Group has released 12 studio albums, amassing two UK Top-10s, and 6 Top-40s in the process.
The first three of those albums have now been digitally remastered, come crammed with previously unreleased bonus material and feature extensive liner notes written by Dave Ling.

AC/DC'S LONG AWAITED "BLACK ICE" ALBUM OUT ON MONDAY, OCTOBER 20th
Columbia Records announces the worldwide release of "Black Ice," the long awaited new studio album from AC/DC, on Monday, October 20.
"Black Ice," the first full-length studio album of all-new material from AC/DC since the release of "Stiff Upper Lip" in 2000, is the band's debut recording for Columbia Records.
Produced by Brendan O'Brien at the Warehouse Studio in Vancouver, BC, "Black Ice" premieres 15 new AC/DC compositions and performances including the album's first single, "Rock 'N' Roll Train," slated to impact radio around the world on August 28 with a video debuting in September.
"No Bull: The Director's Cut," a newly edited expanded DVD edition of AC/DC's historic performance at Madrid's Plaza de Toros de Las Ventas on July 10, 1996, will be released worldwide on September 8, 2008. "No Bull: The Director's Cut" has been remixed in Dolby Digital Stereo and Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound and includes the original concert showcasing more than two hours of music as well as bonus features.
AC/DC will embark on a major world tour, the group's first since 2001, beginning late October.

METALLICA NEW SINGLE AND 2009 UK TOUR
With the immense success of 'Death Magnetic' still ringing in our ears Metallica continue their assault on the world with the release of new single 'All Nightmare Long' on the Vertigo label through Universal.
Released on the 15th December 2008 as a digital download only, fans will be treated to both the video and the individual track itself.
Metallica are set to play a full tour of the UK for the first time since October 1996. All the dates will be performed in the round with general admission tickets situated on the floor, with reserved seating off the floor. Tickets go on sale at 9 a.m. on Friday October 24th 2008. Support on all dates will be Machine Head and The Sword.
The band recently released the 12th album in their 27 year career which marked their unprecedented reign as THE greatest hard rock band in history. 'Death Magnetic' hit the No. 1 slot in 32 countries. It stormed to the top of the UK charts where it remained for 2 weeks, making it their third UK No.1 album. 'Death Magnetic' has held onto pole position in the European charts for FIVE weeks now, and not even the release of a new Oasis album could shake it!
On their last visit to the UK in September this year, Metallica played an intimate show in front of 300 competition winners at the BBC Radio Theatre which was later transmitted on Radio 1 in a five hour Metallica-fest. THE DOORS DIAL IN AT THE MATRIX
Two-Disc Collection Includes Unreleased Recordings of the Band Playing a Small Club in San Francisco Just Weeks Before Success with 'Light My Fire'
Rhino and Bright Midnight Archives present LIVE AT THE MATRIX 1967, the latest instalment in The Doors' acclaimed series of archival concert releases. This two-disc addition to the band's live canon contains two club shows witnessed by few but bootlegged by many. Restored and carefully mastered from first-generation tapes acquired by Elektra Records and The Doors 40 years ago, these historic shows never sounded better. The collection, featuring cover art by legendary San Francisco artist Stanley Mouse, will be available November 18 at all retail outlets, including www.rhino.co.uk.
Where the previous three Bright Midnight Archives releases documented The Doors' final tour in 1970, LIVE AT THE MATRIX 1967 rewinds to the band's early days for a pair of shows at a San Francisco club in March 1967. Only a handful of people showed up, so Jim Morrison, John Densmore, Robby Krieger, and Ray Manzarek played for each other, exploring song arrangements and jamming on a few blues favourites. Ironically, only a few weeks after the Matrix shows, the band's second single, 'Light My Fire,' would make them famous, selling a million copies on its way to topping the chart during The Summer of Love.
'It was early 1967 and The Doors were about to enter the consciousness of the nation. And this is the way it sounded,' Manzarek writes in the album's liner notes.
In spite of the empty room, the band is fully engaged, using the time to give 'The End' and 'Back Door Man' extra lyrics and extended sections. 'This is probably the closest we've come to a true document of The Doors without constraints,' says Bruce Botnick, the album's producer and the band's long-time co-producer and engineer.
The band performs much of its self-titled debut on the first disc, including 'Soul Kitchen,' 'Alabama Song (Whisky Bar),' and the first single, 'Break On Through (To The Other Side).' Along with those early originals, the band indulges its love of the blues with Bo Diddley's 'Who Do You Love,' Muddy Waters' 'I'm A King Bee,' and Allen Toussaint's 'Get Out Of My Life, Woman,' which has never appeared on any previous Doors albums. The second disc offers a glimpse of the band mapping out its future, working out early versions of several songs from upcoming albums: 'Crawling King Snake' (LA Woman); 'Summer's Almost Gone' (Waiting For The Sun); and nearly half of the songs from The Doors' second album, Strange Days.

2-CD Collection Captures Megadeth's Biggest Hits, An Unreleased Demo, Plus Two Rare Live Recordings
Following the successful 2007 release of the coveted 4-CD+DVD Warchest box set, Megadeth are back with a vengeance with Anthology: Set the World Afire. The career-spanning 2-CD and digital collection, to be released on 29 September, features Megadeth's top hits and fan favorites, a previously unreleased demo and two rare concert recordings.
Anthology: Set the World Afire is loaded with 35 electrifying tracks, among them Megadeth's top hits, including 'Trust,' 'A Tout Le Monde,' 'Insomnia' and 'Train of Consequences.' Also included are rare 1992 concert recordings of 'Peace Sells' and 'Symphony of Destruction,' previously available only in limited release, the latter having never been released in the U.S. 'High Speed Dirt' is a demo version, previously unreleased.
Iconic frontman Dave Mustaine pioneered the hugely successful metal band Megadeth after his departure from Metallica. Beginning with the band's 1985 debut album, Killing Is My Business...And Business Is Good!, and evolving through a shifting series of lineups, Megadeth crafted a dynamic, intelligent style that combined the aggressiveness of thrash metal, the improvisational nature of jazz, and cynical, articulate, politically-charged lyrics into an innovative mix that built a rabid worldwide following.

MARILLION 'EARLY STAGES: THE OFFICIAL BOOTLEG BOX SET 1982 - 1987 LIMITED EDITION'

EMI announce the release of MARILLION 'Early Stages: The Official Bootleg Box Set 1982 - 1987' on 17 November. This strictly limited edition box set brings together officially for the first time, much sort-after previously unreleased live recordings including concerts recorded for BBC Radio 1 and Radio Clyde, culminating in what is the ultimate Fish era live Anthology.
The set itself will feature cover artwork from artist Mark Wilkinson, who designed the artwork for all the Fish era Marillion albums, housed in a clamshell box with each CD contained in its own individually designed pouchette. The booklet will feature relevant memorabilia from each gig represented, plus an introductory note from Fish.
During the period these recordings were made, Marillion were one of the finest and biggest live draws on the UK and European circuit. In record terms, the albums released from 1982 to 1987 ('Script For A Jester's Tear', 'Fugazi', 'Misplaced Childhood', 'Clutching At Straws') sold in their hundreds of thousands and featured many of the band's biggest singles such as 'Lavender' and 'Kayleigh', as well as fan favourites such as 'Grendel' and 'Market Square Heroes'.
'Early Stages: The Official Bootleg Box Set 1982 - 1987' is truly a treasure chest for Marillion fans.
In 1988 Fish left Marillion to forge an impressive solo career, whilst the rest of the band continued to thrill their ever-thriving fan base with new singer Steve Hogarth. On 06 October Fish releases his second single from the album '13TH STAR' entitled 'Zoe 25'. The single was inspired by Page 3 girl Zoe McConnell - and looks set to take over from the classic 'Kayleigh' as the rock front man's biggest hit single to date.
